Care for Oily SkinThis skin type usually has open pores and an oily surface, with a tendency towards pimples, blackheads and a sallow appearance. This is due to the over-production of sebum. Unfortunately, this skin type is the one most prone to acne. The good news is that this oiliness will make your skin stay younger-looking for longer - so there are some benefits! It's important not to treat oily skin too harshly, although this can be tempting when youre faced with a fresh outbreak of pimples. Overenthusiastic treatment can encourage the oil glands to produce even more sebum, whilst it will leave the surface layer dry and dehydrated. The best way to care for oily skin is to use products that gently cleanse away oils from the surface and clean up the pores, without actually drying out and damaging it. The visible part of your skin actually need water and not oil to keep it soft and supple. Acne Alert: Anyone who has acne knows what a distressing condition it is. As well as being a problem that it runs in families, its thought to be triggered by a change in hormones during adolescence, which results in more sebum being produced by the skin. It can also be aggravated by stress, poor lifestyle and poor skincare. Careful skincare will help keep acne under control. Avoid picking at pimples, as this can lead to scarring. Try over-the-counter blemish treatments. Products containing tea-tree oil can be very effective. Even though the remainder of your face is prone to oiliness, always remember that the skin around your eyes is very delicate. Soak a (cotton ball) pad with a non- oily remover and hold it over your eyes for a few seconds to give it rime to dissolve the makeup Then lightly stroke away the mascara and the make-up from the eyelids and your upper and lower lashes. Splash your face with tepid water, then lather up with a gentle foaming facial wash.. This is a better option than any ordinary soap, as this will only remove the dust, grime, makeup and oil that accumulates in the pores and will not strip off the moisture off your skin. Massage gently and rinse away with lots of tepid water. Soak a cotton wool (cotton ball)pad with a refreshing astringent lotion. Sweep it over your skin to refresh and cool it. This liquid should not sting or irate your skin if it does then dilute the formulation with some distilled water. Continue until the cotton wool comes up completely clean. Even oily skin needs a gentle moisturizer this helps to seal water into the top layers of the skin. Choose a light , watery fluid rather than a heavy formulation as this will be enough for you. Allow the moisture to skin into your skin for a few minutes. Then wipe off the excess with a soft clean tissue as this will prevent a shiny complexion. Boosting your skins moisture levels and controlling the excess oiliness will ensure a beautifully clear complexion. |
