Dry Skin

If your skin tends to feel one size too I small, ifs a fair bet youve got a dry complexion. Its caused by too little sebum in the lower levels of the skin and too little moisture in the upper levels. It can feel tight after washing. At its worst, it can be flaky, with flakiness in your eyebrows, and have a tendency to promote premature ageing with the emergence of fine lines and wrinkles.

The condition of dry skin can be aggravated by overuse of soap, detergents and toners. It is also affected by exposure to hot sun, cold winds and central heating. Opt for the gentle approach, concentrating on boosting the skin's moisture level to plump out fine lines and make it soft and supple.

Pour a little oil-based eye make-up remover onto a cotton wool (cotton ball) pad and sweep it over the eye area. This oily product will also help soothe dryness in the delicate eye area) but a little goes a long way. If you overload the skin here with an oily product it can cause puffiness and irritation.

Clean up stubborn flecks with a cotton bud dipped in eye makeup remover. Be careful not to get the remover in your eyes but work as closely as you can to the eyelashes to remove all signs of makeup.Choose a creamy cleanser that will melt away dirt and make-up from the surface of your skin.  Leave  the cleanser on for a few moments for it to work, before sweeping it away with a cotton wool (cotton ball) pad. Use gentle upward ovements to prevent stretching the skin and encouraging lines.

Many women with dry skins say that they miss the feeling of water oil their skin. However, you can splash your face with cool water to remove excess cleanser and to refresh your skin. This will also help boost the blood circulation  in  your  face,  which  means  a brighter complexion.

This is the most important step of all for dry skins a nourishing cream to seal moisture into the upper levels of your skin. Opt for a thick cream, rather than a runny lotion, as this contains more oil than water. Give the moisturizer a few minutes to sink into your skin before applying make-up.

Nourish dry skin by using a thick moisturizer to keep it as soft and supple as possible.
